The Yucca Rostrata has a special appearance due to its unique shape that you will not often see. The crown containing long, bright green, large leaves of about 40 to 60 centimetres that stand straight up makes the Yucca Rostrata a real eye-catcher. These leaves grow from the inside outwards. When the outer leaves have had their best day, you can leave them hanging for a natural effect, but you can also cut them off to create a nice tight effect. Originally, the Yucca Rostrata comes from northeast Mexico, West Texas and the Chihuahua desert.

The Yucca is a real sunbather and does not need much water. If you have the Yucca Rostrata outside in the winter months, the plant may be sensitive to moisture. It is important that the Yucca Rostrata has a good drainage system in the pot so that water can escape. It is also advisable to protect the plant from moisture in the autumn months with a cover. Too much moisture can cause rotting and of course you want to avoid this!

Water requirements of the Yucca Rostrata - 180cm

The Yucca Rostrata originates from very dry areas and is therefore not a fan of too much water. You don't need to water the Yucca Rostrata very often, as it is a slow grower and simply doesn't consume much water. Do check the soil once a week and make sure it doesn't dry out completely. If the soil feels very dry, you can water a little until it feels moderately moist. Always check the quantity and frequency in the beginning.

Light requirements of the Yucca Rostrata - 180cm

The Yucca Rostrata is a sunbather and prefers to be in the sun, and this can certainly be direct sunlight! We advise you not to move the Yucca too often. The plant needs to get used to a new spot and this will disrupt its development and growth. The Yucca is hardy, but at extreme temperatures below -7 degrees Celsius, we advise you to protect the plant with a cover.
