    We see houseplants in many bedrooms, living rooms and bathrooms but often the kitchen is skipped and that is a pity! Plants provide better air quality and also provide a nice atmosphere. When you have to wait until your spaghetti is ready, you can also easily water your green friends. Please note that not all plants are suitable for standing in the kitchen. Read on and find out which green friends you can best put in your kitchen.

    Dischidia Back

    Originally this hanging kitchen plant comes from Asia and is family of the Asclepiadaceae.  Because it is a hanging plant, it becomes a real eye-catcher. In terms of care, the Dischidia Geri is also not the most difficult, a win-win situation ! The leaves of this houseplant are quite thick and this ensures that the Dischidia Geri does not need much water. We recommend that you water small amounts several times so that the soil dries slightly between waterings. If you are in doubt about a new watering, we advise you to wait a while.  

    The Dischidia Geri likes the necessary light, so take this into account when it is located. Therefore, give it a nice warm and light spot but avoid full sun. Furthermore, the Dischidia Geri is a fast grower and it can therefore happen that its branches become too long. When this happens, you can safely cut them to the desired length. 

    If you find the Dischidia Geri just a bit too big, the Dischidia white diamond might be something for you! These two eye-catchers both need the same care.

    Senecio Rowleyanus

    Another splash of a hanging plant, this cheerful plant is perfect as a kitchen plant! The nickname of this plant is Pea plant and that is not for nothing, because its leaves seem to contain peas. The Senecio Rowleyanus has a cheerful appearance and is really a hip houseplant! Above all, it is a fast grower and retains its ornamental value even in the winter months. You should water the Pea Plant 1 time a week, if you are hesitant to water the plant freshly, we advise you to wait a while. Also, do not give the Pea Plant fresh water until the soil has completely dried out. This plant stores a lot of water in its spherical leaves, so this cheerful appearance does not need a lot of water. The Pea Plant likes a light location but it is not a fan of direct sunlight. When the Senecio Rowleyanus has a good time, he will grow quickly! Is it getting too big? Then you can safely cut off his leaves.

    Monstera Monkey Leaf

    Are you looking for something special? Then the hanging plant Monstera Monkey Leaf is  completely suitable for you! This special hanging plant comes all the way from far away Mexico and is extremely popular. How could it be otherwise... have you seen those leaves? 

    Besides the fact that the Monstera Monkey Leaf has a super appearance, it is also an easy kitchen plant. Of course, this does not mean that this green kitchen plant does not need attention. 

    The Monstera Monkey Leaf is not super thirsty. As long as the soil around the plant is slightly moist, this beautiful houseplant is already satisfied. Give the Monstera Monkey Leaf a splash of water every week. In return, this air purifier gives you fresh and pure air to live in! The Monstera Monkey Leaf isn't that picky when it comes to its location. Place the kitchen plant in a light spot but not in direct sunlight. 

    Cacti as a kitchen plant

    Cacti survive everywhere and they will also do great in your kitchen. Cacti are real eye-catchers that are easy to care for, ideal! The Cactus takes up little space and are always present, the ideal kitchen plant!

    Spiral Cactus

    This special Cactus is originally from Brazil , but the Spriaalcactus is not found in nature as it has been cultivated. However, this does not make it any less special as a kitchen plant!

    This unique cactus grows quietly upwards and at the same time it rotates around its axis, from here the spiral shape is created. The small spines on the edges of the plant are small. As you are used to from a Cactus, he likes a sunny or very bright place. This is where he will be able to develop best. Watering is almost not necessary, once every two weeks a small splash of water is often enough.

    Euphorbia Erytrea Cactus

    If you now have just a little more space in your kitchen, the originally African Euphorbia ingens is  completely suitable for you! The special thing about this Cactus is that it is not a real Cactus at all, the Euphorbia ingens is a member of the spurge family. So it is actually a succulent plant that looks like a Cactus. Just like cacti, this cool kitchen plant needs little care, only water it when the soil is completely dry. In winter, you only need to water this kitchen plant 1 time a month.  If the Euphorbia ingens is placed in a sunny place, you will enjoy this kitchen plant for a long time!

    Citrusbomen as keukenplant

    If your kitchen could use some flowers, we advise you to purchase a Citrus tree. Wherever you put these amazing trees they will always cheer you up. Besides the fact that they look great, they also smell wonderfully fresh in the summer months. At Green-Bubble we have different sizes of Citrus trees, so there will always be a suitable tree for you! For example, we have a Citrus Calamondin, this is a smaller variant of about 45 centimeters. This is truly a sweetheart and will do great as a kitchen plant. If you have a little more space, the Orange Tree might be something for you. This tree is about 85 centimeters in size and certainly stands out! Read on and find out how you can best take care of these trees.

    Originally these colorful trees come from the Mediterranean, nowadays they are known worldwide and can be found everywhere.

    The watering at the Citrus tree is somewhat different than with "normal" houseplants. The Citrus tree is naturally accustomed to dry periods interspersed with periods of rain. So prevent that the soil is not too moist. However, we do recommend that you give the Citrus tree a spray with some regularity. This helps to keep the leaf clean and remove the dust, so you also reduce the chance of any pests

    Due to the necessary sunlight, the Citrus trees can develop well and remain healthy. In the Netherlands there is less sun and the sun is less powerful here, so the Citrus trees have more difficulty with their development. It is therefore important that the Citrus tree is in a place with as much sunlight as possible and preferably in full sun.

    The Pancake Plant as a kitchen plant

    This is really the ideal kitchen plant, they are hip, cute, have a funny appearance and you can also make great cuttings with them! How nice is that? The Pancake plant is also called the Pilea Peperomioides . The Pancake plant has long green stems and is characterized by the round leaves on the stems, which are reminiscent of pancakes. Water 1 time a week is enough for the pancake plants. Make sure that you do not give too much water, this does not make him so happy. The Pilea Peperomioides likes to stand in a sunny place, but prefer not to be in direct sunlight. Find a spot where the sun doesn't shine directly.
