    Of course, there's nothing quite like coming home after a long day of work and relaxing in your own botanical spa oasis. We are all very busy these days and a moment for yourself seems almost impossible. That is why it is super important to regularly schedule a 'me-time' moment. The perfect place to surround yourself with greenery is the bathroom. So it's high time to bathe between the houseplants and turn your bathroom into a botanical oasis. Combine different tropical bathroom plants and create your own plant bathing studio, just in your home. Most plants won't really appreciate it if they're put in the bathroom. Nevertheless, there are still plenty of cool plants that can easily survive in the bathroom. Big, small, easy or just a little more difficult to maintain, there is plenty of choice! We have listed the nicest and most diverse bathroom per category for you.

    By the way, make sure that some light enters the room, no plant will survive without light.

    Small bathroom plants

    Maybe you do not have such a very large bathroom or you just want a small green accent on your bathroom then the Air Plants are  a super cool addition. Air plants are very special plants because they literally live on air. The Air plants are family of the Tillandsia and there are about 500 different species. It may sound like you don't have to worry about this houseplant, but that's not entirely true. 

    Air plants also need water to stay alive and they can't get the water out of the air. These bathroom plants should be watered in a different way than the 'normal' plants. The gray colored air plants should be watered once a week and the green colored air plants need a watering about twice a week

    An important factor in the care of the Air Plant is the air. These plants are not called Air Plants for nothing. The air plants get a lot of their food from the air, so they absolutely should not be in a closed container / pot. There should always be an opening in the pot so that they get enough fresh air.

    Another nice bathroom plant is the Coffee plant or the Coffea Arabica originally this little friend comes from Ethiopia.  The Coffee Plant is easy to care for and is therefore not picky regarding its location or watering. It is important that the soil is always slightly moist, in the summer months your Coffee Plant will use a bit more water than in the winter months. When your coffee plant gets brown leaf edges, this is often a sign of an excess of water. The Coffee Plant likes a light and warm location, but direct sunlight will not benefit it. Put this houseplant in a place to draft, the Coffee plant can not cope well with this and it will suffer from pests more quickly. 

    Medium bathroom plants

    If you have a nice corner to brighten up your own botanical spa, the Sansevieria Zeylanica is  a good choice! You can really put this easy houseplant anywhere, because it doesn't matter where it is.  The Sansevieria is the definition of an easy houseplant and is therefore true easy-care. Even the largest survivor needs attention from time to time. Therefore, read what you can do from time to time to keep your green houseplant friends!

    Do not give the Sansevieria Zeylanica too much water! This houseplant is not so thirsty at all. Are you unsure whether you should water? Then skip just once.

    In addition to the Sanseveria, the Dracaena Green is also  a very nice addition to your 'home spa' as a bathroom plant. The Dracaena Green also called dragon blood tree is a strong tropical houseplant. A cool houseplant that should not be missed in your bathroom!  The Dracaena Green is a very strong plant. Even a real plant killer will not get this plant off its stick. This easy houseplant requires very little care. Perfect if you don't have a green thumb or have little time for care. Of course, this does not mean that you can neglect this green houseplant. 

    You only need to water the dragon plant 1 time every 3 to 6 weeks. The best way to check this is to check the humidity of the earth. Too much water certainly does not do this cool green houseplant well! Do not place the Dracaena Green in direct sunlight, ideal for the bathroom where (in most cases) there is little direct sunlight. This green rascal loves to grow in a place where there is shade.

    Large bathroom plants

    Do you now have a large bathroom where you can use an oasis? Then the Chamaedorea elegans is the end for you!

    The Chamaedorea elegans or the Mexican Mountain Palm brings a piece of Mexico to its new home. The Mexican Mountain Palm not only has a beautiful appearance with its feathery leaves, it also has air-purifying qualities. The Mexican Mountain Palm will therefore contribute to a healthy climate of your botanical spa. Planting a real topper under the bathroom!

    The Chamaedorea elegans likes the necessary sunlight and 1 to 3 hours of sun a day certainly benefits the plant. This bathroom plant is not a fan of wind, with too much wind its leaves can show brown spots. The Chamaedorea elegans is a thirsty plant but you should prevent the plant from standing with its roots in the water. Regularly giving small amounts of water is better than once a large amount. However, the amount depends on the size of the plant. If the plant gets brown leaf tips, you can easily give the plant a little more water.

    The Caryota Mitis will also be a nice addition to your bathroom oasis as a bathroom plant. Originally the plant comes from Southeast Asia, but nowadays this palm can be found in almost all tropical environments. A funny nickname of this plant is the fishtail palm. This is due to its somewhat unusual leaves that resemble the tail of a fish. The fishtail palm likes enough water. Make sure that the soil is always moist but not infused with water. As far as the location is concerned, the Caryota Mitis is not the most difficult. This plant does well in a light but also in a shady place. Are you unsure about the place? The plant will automatically indicate this through its leaves. If there are few new leaves on the plant, it is often too dark. If the leaves change colour, it is too light.

    Hanging bathroom plants

    Hanging plants always do well and bring a nice atmosphere with them. Also in the bathroom hanging bathroom plants will do well! The Grass Lily hanging plant will feel at home in your bathroom. Originally, the Grass Lily comes from South Africa where it grows as a ground cover. In South Africa there are 65 different species of this very strong plant.  

    The Grass Lily is an easy bathroom plant to care for. Nevertheless, it can always happen that he does not have a good time, he will show this through his leaves. Hanging leaves are a sign of a water shortage, but feel the soil first before you start watering more. In the summer months you should water the Grass Lily two to three times a week and in the winter months once a week will suffice. This bathroom plant likes a damp surface but be careful not to give it too much water. The Grass Lily is better to be a little too dry than too wet.

    When the Grass Lily is in too light a spot, its leaves will fail. If there is too little light, the leaf drawings will disappear and no new leaves will grow. The best location for a Grass Lily is in a light and warm place, but the full sunlight is just too much of a good thing for this houseplant. We recommend that you place the Grass Lily near a north-facing window or else in a place with indirect sunlight
