Syngonium White Butterfly Green
The Syngonium White Butterfly Green is a beautiful member of the Araceae family. The plant grows mainly in countries such as Bolivia, Mexico and Brazil. Here the Syngonium White Butterfly Green grows as a climbing plant on high trees. At home it can also be used as a hanging plant or as a climber.
The Syngonium White Butterfly Green is characterised by its variegated, arrow-shaped leaves which are green and cream in colour. The leaves resemble the wings of a butterfly, therefore the nickname 'White Butterfly'.
The older the plant gets, the more leaf patterns it will develop. Make sure that the plant is not placed in direct sunlight. This may jeopardise the development of new leaves.
Care & tips Syngnonium White Butterfly Green
The Syngonium White Butterfly Green is not a difficult plant to care of. The plant likes a light spot, without direct sunlight. A temperature of at least 15 degrees Celsius will be ideal for the Syngonium. It is preferable to give the Syngonium White Butterfly Green small amounts of water several times rather than once with a large watering can. This prevents the plant from receiving too much water.
Make sure that the Syngonium White Butterfly Green is not placed on a windowsill and/or near a heater as this creates a flow of very dry air. As the plant originates from the tropics, it needs a slightly higher humidity.
Water requirements for the Syngonium White Butterfly Green
The Syngonium White Butterfly Green needs moderate amounts of water. Try to keep the soil slightly moist, but be careful not to over-water it. Too much water can cause root rot, which can cause the plant to die. We recommend to feel with two fingers in the soil to know if it is time for watering.
If the soil is already very dry after two days, you may water your Syngonium White Butterfly Green again. If the soil is still very wet after a few days, we recommend waiting a while.
