The biggest misconception is that an orchid is difficult to care for. The opposite is true! With a little extra attention, it can even flower several times a year. The orchids are therefore fresher than fresh, as they come from our own nursery.
The Leeds orchid is an easy houseplant to look after. Once the Leeds orchid is in the right position, you won't have to worry about it much! In the right conditions, you can enjoy this tropical houseplant for years.
Keep in mind that the soil the Leeds orchid stands in should always remain slightly moist. However, watering the orchid is slightly different from what you are used to. We recommend pouring the water only on the soil and never on the plant itself. Even better is to take the Leeds orchid out of its pot and put the entire root ball in a layer of water for a few minutes. This way, the roots of this houseplant can absorb the water well and there will never be a layer of water in the pot. Do let the root ball drain well otherwise root rot may occur.
As mentioned before, you can enjoy this houseplant for years, provided it has the right care and therefore position. The Leeds orchid likes a spot with lots of light but without direct sunlight. Direct sunlight is too bright and can burn the leaves of this houseplant. Also make sure you keep this houseplant away from a heater and don't put it in a draught. These two factors increase the risk of pests.
The Leeds orchid is absolutely not a poisonous houseplant, indeed it is a very animal-friendly houseplant. So there's no need to worry.
The Leeds Orchid is a Phalaenopsis and this means that this houseplant can flower up to 3 times a year, the flowering period of which is 2 to 6 months. In short, you will therefore have beautiful flowers in your home all year round! You don't need to cut off the stems of the Leeds Orchid to get new blooms. However, if the stems become too long, you can cut them off and put the flowers in a vase.
