Ficus Lyrata is a popular houseplant due to its particularly beautiful leaves and easy care. Its nickname is the tobacco plant which it owes to the shape of its leaves. In the wild, this plant can grow up to 30 metres tall. Ficus Lyrata is a fast-growing plant, but it will not reach these heights easily. When you buy this plant, you have a chance that the green houseplant will drop some leaves in the beginning. Do not panic, this is because it needs to get used to its new environment. Furthermore, this plant is a real sunbather! We will give it to you in the Nora Matt Coffee decorative pot.
The Nora Matt Copper is a handmade decorative pot, which is completely covered with silver leaf and is then finished with a lacquer coating. This unique ornamental pot features a water reservoir, water gauge, frame and decorative stones.
The Ficus Lyrata bush is not a difficult houseplant to look after. It is, however, sensitive to new environments. So should the easy houseplant grow to one side, do not move the plant all at once but turn it a little every day. Larger changes may cause the plant to drop its leaves.
This pot is equipped with a wick (Wick). When the plant is thirsty, it draws water up through the wick. All you have to do is refill the water reservoir every now and then and find a good spot in the house! For the rest, the plant takes care of itself!
The Ficus Lyrata bush is a real sunbather, so it prefers a bright spot close to a window. The plant really needs daylight to continue growing. If no new leaves appear, this is a sign that the location is too dark. During the summer months, direct sunlight can become too intense. For this period, move the plant to a place with fewer hours of sunlight per day.
The leaves of the Ficus Lyrata bush are toxic to pets and children. Ingestion of the plant is not recommended as it can cause irritated bumps and red skin. The sap contained in the plant also causes irritation on the skin. So be careful with this plant if you have children or pets.
This sunbather comes in a growing pot. All our houseplants are shipped in specially designed shipping boxes. Due to the unique interior of the shipping boxes, the houseplants stand firmly in the box and cannot move. Houseplants don't mind spending a day in a dark box. So we make sure your green friends are delivered to your home in tip-top order.
