Ficus Benghalensis Audrey has been nicknamed the 'Strangling Plant' due to its unique and slightly aggressive growth habit. Indeed, in India, Ficus climbs up on taller trees, strangles them, so to speak, and lowers its roots to the ground. Thus, Ficus takes the victim's place and can grow to great heights.... pooh better not make it angry. In India, the tree is sacred and is called the Banyan Tree. This Ficus grows with hanging roots. A cool and unique eye-catcher!
Ficus Benghalensis Audrey is not a difficult plant to look after. Just make sure you put it in a sunny spot and that you know about the right care. That way, Ficus will come into its own best and you will be able to enjoy it for a long time. In the summer months, give Ficus Benghalensis Audrey some extra nutrition every so often. We do not recommend this in the winter months, when the plant is in a dormant mode.
It is difficult to say exactly how much water your Ficus will need. Every plant has its own needs and drinks at its own speed. One plant may need water much faster than another. Feel this per plant by rooting deeply into the soil with 2 fingers. If the soil here is still wet from last time, it is better to wait with watering. When the plant has been repotted, do this with a moisture meter.
Ficus Benghalensis Audrey comes from a tropical and sunny area. For this reason, this tropical plant can withstand daylight in your home.
Yes, unfortunately Ficus Benghalensis Audrey is toxic when ingested. The sap released when pruning the leaves can be irritating to the skin. Therefore, be careful with small children and pets.
