The Pilea Silvertree is the brother of the well-known pancake plant, but does not resemble it at all. The plant has curled leaves which are dark green with a silver colour. The Pilea Silvertree is not a difficult plant to look after. Pay attention to the right place and the right amount of water and the Pilea will thank you for it. The Pilea Silvertree is not a difficult plant to take care of. It is the ideal plant when you do not feel like paying much attention to your green friends.
Place the Pilea Silvertree in a light place with not too much direct sunlight, because the leaves can burn. When it comes to water, we advise you to feel for each plant. Each plant lives in its own way and one plant will use more water than the other.
Water requirements for Pilea Silvertree
You may always keep the soil of the Pilea Silvertree slightly moist. Be careful not to give too much water. This can cause the water to sink to the bottom of the plant and stick to the roots. This can cause the roots to rot and eventually kill the plant. It is therefore better to water the plant several times a week in small amounts rather than all at once. Check the soil regularly by feeling deep into the soil with your fingers. If it is dry, you can give some water. If the soil is still wet after a few days, then wait a little before watering again.
Light requirements for Pilea Silvertree
The Pilea Silvertree prefers a light spot without too much direct sunlight. Especially in the summer, the direct sun is too hot for the plant. The leaves can shrivel up and burn. Therefore, put the Pilea in a place where the morning and evening sun shines on it. The afternoon sun should be avoided.
Is the Pilea Silvertree poisonous?
