The Philodendron Florida Ghost is a very unique specimen within the Philodendron family.
Originally, Philodendron plants came from the rain forests where they climb up trees and rocks. However, Philodendron Florida Ghost is an oddity in its family. The leaves of Philodendron Florida Ghost have a special shape and each leaf is unique. Apart from the shape of these leaves, the colour is also special. The older the plant gets, the more white spots/leaves this houseplant will get. Each leaf is unique in form but also in its pattern. The Philodendron Florida Ghost is a unique specimen and brings colour to every room. Apart from the fact that this houseplant has a beautiful appearance, it will also improve the air quality. Philodendrons have a strong air-purifying effect; one Philodendron can purify a 10m2 area!
Care & tips Philodendron Florida Ghost - 30 cm
This Florida Ghost is an easy-to-care for houseplant that requires little attention. The right location for a Philodendron Florida Ghost is crucial for it to remain healthy and retain and develop its beautiful colours. Direct sunlight is not an option for this houseplant, as its beautifully coloured leaves cannot tolerate it. The older the Philodendron Florida Ghost gets, the greater the chance that its new leaves will be white in colour or contain white spots. The colouring of the leaves largely depends on the location. If you notice that the colours are becoming less attractive, we recommend that you move the Philodendron Florida Ghost.
Water requirements for Philodendron Florida Ghost - 30 cm
Philodendron Florida Ghost likes a moist soil but it should not stay wet for too long. Between waterings, it is best if the top layer of potting soil dries out a little before you water it again. When in doubt, it is better to wait a little while before watering because otherwise there is a chance that you will give the Florida Ghost a surplus. Too much water can cause the leaves to turn brown, to droop and to develop root rot. This is of course not what you want, so keep a close eye on the soil (especially in the early days). If you notice that the soil feels a bit dry two days after watering, then you can give it a bit more water next time. However, if you notice that the soil is still very wet after five days, then it is better to give less water the next time.
Light requirements for Philodendron Florida Ghost - 30 cm
Philodendron Florida Ghost likes a spot with enough light, but not in direct sunlight. Do the leaves turn yellow and start to droop? Then place the plant in a spot with a little less light.
Is Philodendron Florida Ghost - 30 cm poisonous?
Philodendron Florida Ghost is not poisonous to touch. However, be careful with small children and pets as swallowing this plant can lead to a swollen throat and stomach cramps.
