Wow, what an eye-catcher is this Olea pom pon! You will never find two of the same Olea pom pon because they are all unique! The Olea pom pon branches itself out from its trunk from which several small trees form, each with its own leaf. The Olea pom pon is an Olive tree and originally comes from the Mediterranean area. The Olea pom pon is therefore used to a warm climate. However, this Olea pom pon is hardy and can endure temperatures up to -7!
The Olea pom pon is an easy houseplant to take care of, so you can have this beautiful palm with you! It is important, however, that it gets a sunny spot. Because the sun in the Netherlands is sometimes a bit lacking, it is important that the Olea pom pon gets all the sunlight possible. So pay attention to this when choosing a location. Furthermore, it is important that the Olea pom pon does not get too much water. The Olea pom pon needs sufficient water because it also uses a lot of water, but too much water can be fatal.
The Olea pom pon needs quite a bit of water. Olive trees are quite thirsty plants themselves, but a large 150cm tree like the Olea pom pon needs a little extra!
You can imagine that the bigger the plant, the pot and the amount of soil, the more water it needs. Because the tree needs to be in a sunny location, it will also evaporate a lot of water. The more the sun shines, the more water is needed, so in the summer months the watering is considerably more than in the winter months. The amount and frequency is different for each Olea pom pon. It is better to give the plant one slightly larger shoot at a time than to water it several times in small amounts, as the plant is accustomed to this. Make sure that you do not give the Olea pom pon too much water, as this can cause root rot.
The Olea pom pon is a natural sun worshipper and is used to the Mediterranean climate where the sun almost always shines. Because of the sunlight, the olive trees can develop well, so it is really important that the Olea pom pon gets a sunny spot. Because the sun shines a little less in the Netherlands, all olive trees have more difficulty with their development. The Olea pom pon is not a fast grower, so it is really important that it gets a sunny spot. The Olea pom pon does not need to be kept inside during the winter months, as it is hardy and can withstand temperatures down to -7 degrees. If temperatures drop below 7 degrees Celsius, we recommend protecting the tree with special covers.
The Olea pom pon is absolutely not a poisonous plant, but we advise you not to consume the first olives or olives already hanging on the tree or to use them in food.
