Costus Arabicus Variegata originates from Thailand and is notable for the unusual colours of its leaves. The leaves are beautifully spotted in the colours green and white. The Costus Arabicus Variegata grows in a special way that does not occur often. This houseplant grows namely in a curly / spiral form. This will give the Costus Arabicus Variegata a special appearance, a real eye-catcher so. The Costus Arabicus Variegata is an easy to care for houseplant that will also purify the air.
As mentioned, the Costus Arabicus Variegata is an easy houseplant to take care of. They have little trouble with diseases or pests because their roots are strong and very resistant to diseases. Due to the tropical origin of this houseplant, we advise you to water it 2 to 3 times a week, both the top and the bottom of the leaves.
The Costus Arabicus Variegata likes a moist soil. Make sure, however, that it does not stay wet for too long. Between waterings, the top layer of potting soil should not dry out; it is important that the soil always stays moist. Too much water can cause root rot and you want to prevent this. When there is too little water, the leaves will start drooping. Give the houseplant a little more water, but not a lot at once. Keep a close eye on the soil (especially in the beginning). If you notice that the soil feels a little dry two days after watering, it is best to give a little more water next time. If, however, you notice that the soil is still very wet after five days, then it is better to give less water the next time you water.
The Costus Arabicus Variegata will thrive in a light spot with indirect sunlight. Direct sunlight is a real 'no go' for this plant, its leaves will fail and no new leaves will be produced. If this houseplant is placed in a place that is too dark, it will lose its leaf pattern. In both cases, we advise you to move the plant, as it will recover by itself. The Costus Arabicus Variegata is best placed in a spot out of the draught. If it is in a draught, it will suffer more readily from red spider mite and lice.
The Costus Arabicus Variegata is not a poisonous houseplant, so you do not need to be careful with small children and pets.
This beautiful houseplant will be delivered in a cultivation pot. All our plants are shipped in a specially designed shipping box. The unique interior of the shipping box ensures that the houseplants are firmly positioned in the box and cannot move around. Houseplants don't mind being in a dark box for a day. This way, we make sure that your green friends are delivered to your home in tip-top shape.
PLEASE NOTE: The Costus Arabicus Variegata in the photo is a sample photo.
The plant in the sample photo is not the plant that will be delivered. This is an example, so variations are possible. The final plant delivered may differ in, for example, size, number of flower spikes and so on.
Unfortunately, we do not have the possibility to put the specific photo of all special plants online. That is why we use an example photo on which the appearance of the plant and/or flower can be seen well.
