The Citrus Hystrix or Kaffir lime is slightly different from other citrus trees, both in appearance and in the use of the fruit. The Citrus Hystrix is really a green houseplant, it has shiny green leaves that are double. These special leaves are used in Asian cuisine in sauces and soups where the leaves are cooked along for their special flavour. The fruits of the Citrus Hystrix are not meant to be consumed, but are often used in perfume. In short, a versatile houseplant that will certainly complement your urban jungle!
