The Caryota Mitis is a special appearance and an outsider of its family, namely; the palm tree. As a houseplant, it does not look much like it, but when you let it grow, its roots will become recognisable. Originally the plant comes from Southeast Asia, but nowadays it can be found in almost all tropical environments. This palm can grow up to 12 metres tall! This will not happen in your space due to its slow growth. A funny nickname for this plant is the fishtail palm. It owes this to its somewhat unusual leaves, which resemble the tail of a fish. We supply it in the Joy Anthracite decorative pot.

Care & tips Caryota Mitis - 120cm
The fishtail palm likes plenty of water. Make sure the soil is always moist but not waterlogged. Watering its fishtails will benefit the plant. Especially in winter when the air is a bit drier, it likes this because after all, the fishtail palm is a tropical plant.
Water requirements Caryota Mitis - 120cm
This pot is equipped with a wick (Wick). When the plant is thirsty, it draws water up through the wick. All you have to do is refill the water reservoir every now and then and find a good spot in the house! For the rest, the plant takes care of itself!
Light requirements Caryota Mitis - 120cm
In terms of location, the Caryota Mitis is not the most difficult. This plant does well in a bright but also shady spot. In doubt about its location? The plant will tell you automatically. If few new leaves appear on the plant, it is often too dark. If the colour of the leaves changes, it is too light.
