Product description
The Calathea White Fusion is rare in its kind, as there are only a few Calathea species that have white spots/drawings on the leaf. Originally the Calathea plant comes from the tropical rainforests of South America. In these rainforests, they grow in the shadow of trees and other large plants, which is why they are also called 'Shadow plants'. These houseplants really seem to 'live'. In the evening, the Calathea White Fusion folds its leaves and unfolds them again in the morning at the first rays of light. How cool is that!
In South America, the leaves of the Calathea are also used to make baskets and other utensils. A super strong plant with a great look!
Care & tips Calathea White Fusion
The Calathea White Fusion is a tropical houseplant that is quite easy to take care of, although there are a few points of attention. The Calathea White Fusion is not called the 'Shadowplant' for nothing. This houseplant is not a fan of sunlight, so it is ideal to fill up a dark corner in your room. Also take into account the humidity of this houseplant. Due to its tropical origins, it will not survive well in low humidity.
Water requirements Calathea White Fusion
The Calathea White Fusion needs a little tepid water 2 to 3 times a week, because it is important that the potting soil is constantly slightly moist. We advise you to give small amounts several times to prevent a layer at the bottom of the pot, because this can cause root rot. It is possible that your Calathea White Fusion has calcium stains. The spots will disappear by themselves. We also advise you to water this houseplant at least once a week. By spraying the leaves, you ensure a higher humidity around the plant. This will benefit its health and development. When the leaves hang or curl, this is a sign of a shortage of water. In this case, it is best to water the plant more often.
Light requirements for Calathea White Fusion
As mentioned, this houseplant does not like direct or too much sunlight. From spring to autumn it is best to place the Calathea White Fusion in a spot in the semi-shade. In the winter months, you can move this houseplant to a slightly lighter spot but still without direct sunlight.
Is the Calathea White Fusion poisonous?
The Calathea White Fusion is not poisonous when touched. Nevertheless we advise you not to consume this plant or to use it in food.
How will my Calathea White Fusion be delivered?
This tropical houseplant will be delivered in a cultivation pot. All our plants are shipped in a special designed shipping box. Because of the unique interior of the shipping box, the houseplants stand firm in the box and cannot move. Houseplants don't mind being in a dark box for a day. This way, we make sure that your green friends are delivered to your home in tip-top shape.
NOTE: The Calathea White Fusion in the photo is a sample photo.
The plant in the example photo is not the plant that will be delivered. This is an example, so variations are possible. The final plant delivered may vary in size, number of flower spikes, etc.
Unfortunately, we do not have the possibility to put the specific photo of all special plants online. That is why we use an example photo on which the appearance of the plant and/or flower can be seen well.
