We can't get enough of the Calathea Bluegrass. With its jagged edges and tousled hairdo, it brightens up every dark corner in your home. The Calathea Bluegrass is also known as the 'Shade plant'. This is because the plant does particularly well in a shady spot and does not tolerate much sun.

The leaves of the Calathea Bluegrass are characterised by jagged edges and beautiful green colours. The plant's many cuttings give Calathea Bluegrass a thick and full appearance.
In addition to its nickname 'Shade Plant', the Calathea Bluegrass is also referred to as the 'Prayer Plant' like other Calatheas. The Calathea got this nickname because it folds up its leaves at sunset, resembling a praying hand. You get it from us in the ornamental pot Mason Gold.

The Mason Gold is an ornamental pot with a special appearance, resembling hammered metal. It is a lightweight polystone pot, which is almost indistinguishable from real metal. This is due to a special finishing technique! The ornamental pot features a water reservoir, water gauge, frame and decorative stones.

Care & tips Calathea Bluegrass - 90cm

The Calathea Bluegrass prefers a shady spot in your home or office. Because the Calathea originally grows in the shade of large plants and tall trees, it does not tolerate too much sunlight. This prevents the creation of new leaf markings and may even cause the leaves to burn. So make sure you don't place the plant in front of a window, but rather in a spot that is mostly shaded during the day.

Water requirements Calathea Bluegrass - 90cm

This pot is equipped with a wick. When the plant is thirsty, it draws water up through the wick. All you have to do is refill the water reservoir once in a while and find a good spot in the house! For the rest, the plant takes care of itself!

Light requirements Calathea Bluegrass - 90cm

Calathea Bluegrass originally grows in the tropics of South America and the Amazon region in the shade of large trees. For this reason, the plant does not tolerate too much (direct) sunlight and prefers a shady spot in your home. So pay attention to this when choosing a spot for the plant. In a shady spot, the leaves remain at their most beautiful and the production of new leaf patterns will be stimulated. The plant can also survive in normal daylight, but make sure it does not catch too much light. If the Calathea is too light, it will show this by curling its leaves and becoming crunchy.

No, the Calathea Bluegrass is fortunately non-toxic to humans and animals. Doesn't mean you should take a bite of it right away, of course.
