The Alocasia, also known as elephant ear, is a cool green houseplant with a tropical touch that is a really nice addition to your interior. Alocasia's regularly have water dripping from their leaves, this is called guttation. This is normal and cannot be prevented. The Alocasia XL is 150 cm high and can grow to a height of about 170 cm. With a pot size of 35 cm, it stays upright. The Elephant ear is a beautiful houseplant for your Urban Jungle.

The Alocasia is a wonderful, easy houseplant for the real plant lover. This houseplant needs a little extra care so that it can remain a listening ear for a long time.

Water requirements for Alocasia

Elephant ears go limp when they get too little water. The Alocasia likes it when the soil is constantly slightly moist. Check regularly with your finger whether the soil is still moist.

Light requirements of Alocasia

Alocasia love sunlight. Make sure that this large houseplant receives at least 5 hours of sunlight every day. 

Is the Alocasia XL toxic?

The juice of the Alocasia can cause irritation on the skin and mucous membranes.
